Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 35 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 127 Nursing Homes and 26 Churches. To God Be
The Glory!
Monday August 31 st ~
Published the update from the Nazarene church here in Coos Bay, Oregon.
Did an oil change on the van. (206,500 miles!)
Did a load of laundry (First church building I've run across with a washer & dryer as well as
a shower).
Tuesday September 1 st ~
Drove to Myrtle Point, Oregon. At the "Myrtle Point Care Center" they serve lunch in two
shifts in their small dinning room. One at eleven and one at twelve. The A.D. had me sing for
thirty minutes before each shift, and treated me to lunch in between. At the end of the last
group I heard an expression new to me. A dear lady exclaimed "That made me feel good up
and down my Backbone!"
Wednesday September 2 nd ~
Spent the day and night at a little free camping area I stumbled onto a few years ago (Bear
Creek Rec Area). The only other person staying overnight was a fellow believer (John). We
had some good conversations and shared a meal.
This place has a very large swimming hole in one secluded spot which is just warm enough
this time of year for a pleasant swim/bath.
The one time a year I get to say I took a bath in a creek.
Thursday September 3 rd ~
Drove to Coquille, Oregon and sang at the "Oerding Retirement Home" for five folks.
Attended mid-week services at the "Pentecostal Victory Tabernacle" where I enjoyed the
Honor of contributing a couple of songs.
Friday September 4 th ~
Got a shower at the public swimming pool in town, then drove to Bandon, Oregon and sang
at the "West Wind Court" residential care facility.
Saturday September 5 th ~
Ministered in the Alzheimer's Unit of the "Heritage Place" ALF for about fifteen folks. The
staff got all excited at one point and started running around taking pictures of the residents
with their cell phones. Later when I asked what the deal was they told me their patients are
normally very sad and demoralized. So when they saw them smiling, clapping and singing
along, they got happy themselves and took pictures/video to show family members. Praise
God!
Sunday September 6 th ~
Attended worship services at the "Restoration Worship Center" here in Bandon where I
enjoyed the Honor of contributing a couple of songs. These dear folks took up a sweet Love
Offering for our ministry, and even loaded me up with some canned goods from their food
bank. May God Bless Them!
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
