Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 31 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 96 Nursing Homes and 26 Churches. To God Be
The Glory!
Monday August 2 nd ~
Published from the Foursquare Church in Reedsport, Oregon. Terry (the pastor) gave me
a key to the building and a room for recording. So I sat up the equipment and got to work.
Then joined Deb, Jody, family and friends for dinner.
Tuesday August 3 rd ~
Spent most the day doing recording work including a walk to the nursing home to
arrange for Thursday.
Wednesday August 4 th ~
Got an email from the owner (Scott) of the "Winds of Praise" radio station in Newport,
Oregon that he'd be featuring the current CD today and tomorrow. Praise God!
Deb (a sweet vocalist & keyboard est) arrived to contribute tracks for some of the songs
in the works for the next CD. "At The Cross", "Love Lifted Me", "Trust And Obey" and
"Wonderful Words of Life".
Thursday August 5 th ~
More recording work with Deb. Then ministered at the Hospital Nursing Home. Deb, Jody
and Diane were there to lend singing and spiritual support. Made for an encouraging
environment. Sweet!
Friday August 6 th ~
Spent the morning packing up the Studio. Then sang at the "Harmony House" adult
foster home for two residents, two family members, and one staff member.
Then over to Deb's for some fellowship time with the ladies there. Followed by a Benefit
Spaghetti Dinner at the Foursquare church for one of the members who had been through a
cancer treatment ordeal. She wanted to move east to be near family. This Benefit was to
help with funds for moving expenses.
Saturday August 7 th ~
Wrapped things up in Reedsport. Put the key in the Bear's mouth, then headed down the
coast.
Sunday August 8 th ~
Attended the Nazarene church in North Bend, Oregon.
Got in a strenuous walk in a park.
Then attended evening services at a Baptist church in the same town.
While out walking I carry a cane with me (mostly for aggressive dogs I run into from
time to time). Today, in the park, a young boy hollered out to his parents "Here comes an old
man". Which seemed to embarrass them a bit. As I drew near I smiled and told him my age.
He was amazed at the high number.
Now when I'm in nursing homes they sometimes call me a kid. It's all relative. To our
Father in Heaven, we're all children.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
