Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 33 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 104 Nursing Homes and 27 Churches. To God Be
The Glory!
Monday August 16 th ~
First thing this morning I was able to minister at the "West Wind Court" adult foster care
home. This facility is owned and operated by the couple (Dan & Mary) who pastor the church
"Restoration Worship Center" here in Bandon where I've parked for the past few days. Dan &
Mary also run a construction company. And to top it all off, they now have Four teenage
foster kids in their house.
Now that's a prime example of staying busy for the Kingdom of God!
Tuesday August 17 th ~
Sang at the "Harmony Estates" residential care facility here in Bandon for five residents.
Then over to the "Heritage Place" assisted living facility where I was able to minister in their
large Alzheimer's Unit. For the most part, folks were very calm and sweet. One lady went into
seizures at one point and was wheeled out into the hall where nurses ministered to her. I've
learned to continue singing at these times. One doesn't know if it is physical or Spiritual.
Wednesday August 18 th ~
Drove south to Brookings, Oregon. Then inland twelve miles to a camping area on the
Chetco River.
Thursday August 19 th ~
Practiced some songs out of the hymnal and did some reading while here on the "Nook
Gravel Bar" campground. Along about mid afternoon a middle age couple parked their small
motor home near and invited me over to visit, giving me the opportunity to do some gentle
witnessing. Lord knows if a seed was planted or watered.
Friday August 20 th ~
Drove into town and ministered at the "Macklyn House" assisted living facility for some
sweet folks.
Saturday August 21 st ~
Laundry Day!
Sunday August 22 nd ~
While driving around Brookings early in the morning looking for a church, I spotted the
"Ocean Park" memory care facility. They had no service scheduled, so I got permission to
come in and minister for about twenty five residents and staff members.
Then attended (for the first time) a "Christian Science Church".
Got in a walk. A shower at the Port Authority. Then parked at the Good Samaritan
nursing home where I'm scheduled to minister at their Devotional tomorrow morning.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
