You may notice the camera donated so many years ago, began to act up. Had to switch to the cell phone camera. Please join me in a prayer of Thanks for the family who provided that tool for so long. May God Bless Them!

Nice place to spread out. And do some recording.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 26 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 98 Nursing Homes and 18 Churches. To God
Be The Glory!

Woke up early at the Wal-mart here in Redmond, Oregon. Got over to the "Redmond
Health Care Center" where I was able to sing for the folks.
Before I was due to start, I was walking up and down the hallways strumming the guitar.
At the end of one hall, an old-timer asked me to come in and sing for his mother who was
close to departing this life. Several family members were there. They asked me to sing
"The Old Rugged Cross". When I finished singing I walked over to the bed and put my
hand on her head and said "May God Bless You". With bright eyes and the hint of a smile
she breathed a faint "thank you". A Special Moment.

Another First Experience: Yesterday evening, as I was traveling west through the
mountains, I stumbled onto a free campground "Lost Lake". Found a nice spot, did a little
reading. Then along about dusk I put the curtains up and laid down. Just before drifting
off an old-timer knocked on my window asking "Are you going to stay here tonight?" I
said "Well Yea." Then he asked "Are you going to be here tomorrow night?" I replied "Ah
Noooo". As he was walking away I heard him say kind of to himself "Well I guess I'll just
back in beside you." Heard him say to his wife "Somebody's in there."
Sure enough, they proceeded to back their vehicle and boat trailer right in beside me.
Pitched a tent. And started a fire. Now mind you there were a lot of empty sites all
around. I'm laying there wondering "What in the world is going on!"
Finally got to sleep. When I came out in the morning. There he was, sitting by the
campfire, his wife asleep in the tent. I said "Well Hello!" With a grin I said "I have to ask.
Did I invade ya'lls campsite yesterday?" He laconically responded "No, not really." Then
in a sort of apologetic way he informed me that this was a yearly Fourth of July tradition
for them. Of course I wanted to ask "You have a yearly tradition of invading someone's
campsite?"
Well I didn't. Bless His Heart. It was pretty obvious that he was so used to claiming this
particular site, that when he found it already occupied he couldn't accept it. I just laughed
about it. Wished them a nice stay. And took a picture.
It did teach me a lesson. Don't let myself get so caught up in my traditions that I lose
sight of proper decorum.
