"Westfield Church" Grinnell, Iowa
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 17 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed
the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 63 Nursing Homes and 11 Churches.
To God Be The Glory!
Monday April 27 th ~
Published the update from Lori, Randy & Francene's house here in Grinnell, Iowa.
Went into town to arrange to minister in the local nursing homes, otherwise spent
most the day on the laptop, including setting up another (Free) website. Same name
with .org ending. Not as much info on it. But links to the main one giving more
exposure.
Tuesday April 28 th ~
Sang at the "Friendship Manor Care Centre" here in Grinnell.
Wednesday April 29 th ~
Ministered at the "Saint Francis Nursing Home" here in Grinnell. Several times,
in-between songs, a lady mocked and laughed at the Gospel message. May God
Forgive Her!
On a more positive note, later in the afternoon a nurse told me she heard a number of
comments from residents on how much they enjoyed the time. She said "Even Wayne
liked it! And Wayne is very negative and normally doesn't like anything." So Praise
God!
At the "Westfield Church" for mid-week services I enjoyed the opportunity to sing for
and speak to, about 25 teens & preteens. Also soaked up some sweet time of
fellowship with the adults.
Thursday April 30 th ~
Sang at "The MayFlower Home" in their "Carmen Center" (an auditorium with stage &
in-house speaker system). Nice!
A lady who was visiting from Italy invited me to the room of her male friend who used
to teach religious history in New York and Italy. She wanted one of the CD's. While
visiting she confided that she wished she could Believe. Her friend is in a condition
which leaves him unable to speak coherently. I gently encouraged them both to
consider Jesus.
Friday May 1 st ~
Took the day off.
Saturday May 2 nd ~
What a Hospitable family (Francene, Lori & Randy) here in Grinnell. Feeding and
housing me while I'm in the area. May God Bless Them!
Drove to Berwick, Iowa (just outside of Des Moines) and hooked up with Bill & Shirley
whom I'd met in Arizona back in January. They are back in Iowa for the summer and
contacted me a few days ago inviting me to share at their church.
Sunday May 3 rd ~
Attended worship services at the "Berwick Congregational Church" where I enjoyed
the Honor of contributing some songs along with a message and testimony about our
ministry.
Spent the rest of the day in fellowship with Bill & Shirley.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
