Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 13 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've
enjoyed the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 46 Nursing Homes and
7 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday March 30 th ~
Published the update from the library here in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Then
over to the "Golden Living Center" where I was able to sing for a lovely group of
ladies.
Later, along about dusk at the Wal-mart, the security guard and a locale
policeman came knocking on the van. Simply checking things out. I've found
folks get confused seeing a minivan with curtains.
Tuesday March 31 st ~
Ministered at the "Lawrence County Nursing Center" in Monticello, Mississippi.
A spiritually minded african american lady remembered me from two years ago.
Called me over and said "I'm glad to see you back again".
Further east I pulled into a very large Baptist church where I was able to get a
shower. Then on down the road, stopped at the "Whispering Pines" residential
care home and sang for two staff members and four residents.
Wednesday April 1 st ~
Crossed into Alabama to the "Monroe Manor Nursing Home" in Monroeville.
Walked in to the activity room where the A.D. was leading gospel singing out of
a hymnal. I was able to bring in the guitar and extend their Praise time. (This is
a facility that, three years ago I was refused entry by the Administrator.)
Continued down the road to Brewton, Alabama for mid-week services at the
"Dogwood Hills Church" where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing a couple of
songs. These folks Blessed me with a sweet Love Offering for the ministry. May
God Bless Them!
Thursday April 2 nd ~
A stormy, sever weather alert, day. Drove a little bit, then hunkered down at a
Wal-mart for the afternoon.
Friday April 3 rd ~
Crossed the border into Georgia and stopped in Donalsonville at the "Seminole
Manor Nursing Home". A large crowd was already gathered in their front entry
room. I was allowed to come on in and start sharing the gospel in song. It went
very well.
Then on to Quitman, Georgia where I hooked up with friends at the "Refuge of
Hope" (a prison ministry located on a 45 acre parcel of land).
Saturday April 4 th ~
Attended an early morning men's bible study comprised of Pastors and
members from a variety of denominations. Then ministered at the "Presbyterian
Home & Retirement Community" here in Quitman.
Lunch with one of the Pastors (Jay).
Afternoon at the library working on the laptop, then back out to the Refuge.
Sunday April 5 th ~
Attended morning worship services at the "United Methodist Church" where I
enjoyed the Honor of contributing a couple of songs.
Another First experience: As I started to singing, a couple of two foot tall little
girls came down the center Isle with garlands, which they laid on the alter as I
was singing. It was so SWEET!
Got invited to the First Baptist Church for evening services, then back out to
the Refuge for the night.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
