Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 16 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed
the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 60 Nursing Homes and 9 Churches. To
God Be The Glory!
Monday April 20 th ~
Published the update from the library here in Mansfield, Missouri. Then back to the
church in MaComb to do an oil change on the van and some editing on the laptop.
Tuesday April 21 st ~
Drove twelve miles to Ava, Missouri and ministered at the "Ava Place" ALF. Then back
to Mansfield for laundry day.
Ended the day at the church in MaComb where I was able to finish editing the song "I
Will Sing The Wondrous Story". Dived right in and finished another, "Warriors Go
Home". Both slated for the next CD.
Wednesday April 22 nd ~
Back on the road. Stopped in Mountain Grove, Missouri and sang at the "Autumn
Oaks Caring Center" for a lovely group of folks before their scheduled sing-along with
a choir which came in. Told the choir "I've got 'em warmed up now ya'll run with it."
Further north, late in the afternoon, I spotted a couple of guys working on an older
church building. Turned out to be the pastor and his father-in-law (the former pastor).
When I asked, they gave me permission to park there for the night. M.G.B.T!
Thursday April 23 rd ~
Up early and over to the "California Care Center" where I was able to sing for the
folks while they were still at breakfast. Then drove north to the "Fayette Care Center"
in Fayette, Missouri where the A.D. (Marie) welcomed me with open arms. Treated me
to lunch from their cafeteria and had me sing at 1:30 pm. Oh how the Spirit moved.
As I was shaking hands afterwards, a nurse came over to tell me "I want you to know
that this lady here doesn't speak. But today she was Singing along with you! And, that
lady over there doesn't react to things. But today she was tapping her feet!" Praise
God!
Bless Her Heart, Marie arranged for me to get a shower, park here for the night, and
gave access to their TV room where I could spend time visiting with Jeff (a resident
my age suffering with MS).
Friday April 24 th ~
As I continued north I ran across a life-size replica of Jesus Open Tomb beside the
highway on church property. Stopped to check it out and get some pictures. Ended up
meeting and spending quite a bit of sweet time in fellowship with the Pastor (Dan). At
one point he offered to run off some color copies of our Prayer Cards. He did a
Hundred of 'em. May God Bless Him!
Saturday April 25 th ~
Ministered at the "Northern Mahaska Nursing & Rehab Center" in Oskaloosa, Iowa. A
relatively new (1-year old) facility. Caught 'em gathered in their large dinning area on
this rainy/dreary saturday morning. We spent time in some uplifting Praise to God.
Sunday April 26 th ~
Attended worship services at the "Nazarene Church" in Grinnell, Iowa. Enjoyed the
Honor of sharing with the teens during Sunday School, as well as contributing a
Special during services.
A delicious home cooked meal with friends. Then again during evening services was
given the opportunity to share a couple of new songs.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
