| "On The Road Again" Home for a night at a quite Rest Area in Texas |
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 12 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've
enjoyed the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 40 Nursing Homes and
5 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday March 23 rd ~
Vacuumed and organized the van. Worked on the website and published the
update. Then on the road by mid-afternoon. Stopped in a rest area for the night.
Tuesday March 24 th ~
Arrived in Kerrville in time for the dental appointment to fit the partials. Then
over to the "Rolling Hills" nursing home where I enjoyed singing for a large
group. At the start I mentioned that they would be hearing me sing for the first
time with partials in my mouth. A dear sweet lady up front stretched out a little
apron and said "We'll catch 'em if they come out".
Needless to say we had a fun time.
About ten miles away in Center Point, Texas I was given the use of the empty
Parsonage of the "Trinity Church" where I know the pastor. Did an oil change
on the van and got showered up. Also did a little work on the laptop.
Wednesday March 25 th ~
While heading north back through Kerrville I spotted the "Sterlying House" ALF
where I was able to minister for a sweet group of folks and was given a warm
reception.
Continuing north through a stormy afternoon, turned east at one point
stopping at a
Wal-mart for the night.
Thursday March 26 th ~
Foggy morn'in. Stopped at the "Westview Manor" in McGregor, Texas and
ministered in their Alzheimer's Unit. Then on down the road, in the afternoon I
was able to sing at the "Teague Nursing Home" in Teague, Texas.
Friday March 27 th ~
Picked up a two dollar shower at a State Park, then sang at the "Birmingham
Health Care Center" in Rusk, Texas. A rather unhappy place. May God Shine His
Light Here!
Saturday March 28 th ~
Blew through Louisiana pausing at the "Desoto Retirement & Rehab Center" in
Mansfield, Louisiana. Then on into Mississippi to the Homochito National Park
for the night.
Sunday March 29 th ~
Attended worship services at the Baptist church in Lucien, Mississippi where I
enjoyed the Honor of contributing a Special.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
