Nursing Home Music Ministry
The Snake River outside of American Falls, Idaho
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 38 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've
enjoyed the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 145 Nursing Homes and
32 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday September 15 th ~
Ministered at the "Harmony Manor" here in Winnemucca, Nevada. Then published
the update from a coffee house.
The pastor (Kevin) from the Calvary Chapel invited me to dinner with his family
for some sweet fellowship. Then Wade (a member of the church) asked me to join
him at a Casino to watch Monday Night Football. There was an MC giving out
door prizes throughout the game. At the very end Wade won $10 and promptly
donated it to our ministry. May God Bless Him!
Tuesday September 16 th ~
Met Wade for breakfast, and eventually got back on the road. No nursing homes,
but I was able to witness to a bicyclist at a rest area.
Wednesday September 17 th ~
In Elko, Nevada I was able to sing for a large group at the "Highland Manor". Then
drove northeast into Idaho where I was able to get a shower at a private RV Park.
The dear lady even made a donation to our ministry for one of the CD's. M.G.B.H!
Thursday September 18 th ~
After doing some laundry, I continued east to American Falls, Idaho where I was
able to sing in the nursing home attached to the hospital. Towards the end one of
the lady's left. Grumbling how if she'd know what it was all about she wouldn't
have come.
I thanked her anyway for listening. Not the most uplifting session I've had. Still, a
couple of folks seemed to enjoy and be encouraged by the gospel message. So
for their sake I press on.
Friday September 19 th ~
Pulled into Soda Springs, Idaho and ministered at the "Caribou Memorial Hospital
Living Center". At one point a staff member exclaimed "You must be doing
something right. Mrs. so & so never claps for anybody." I answered "That's the
power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!" I then sang "There's Power In The Blood".
A neat little side note. As I was taking a walk around the city park, a lady at a
picnic table with her family said hi to me and then asked if I was a singer. Turns
out she was the activity director (Sandy) when I was here two years ago. She told
me that she had been helped and encouraged at that time by our ministry.
Uplifting!
Saturday September 20 th ~
Drove east to Rawlins, Wyoming in time for the Saturday night bible study at the
"Church on the Rock".
Sunday September 21 st ~
The pastor (Randy) had provided a place to park and shower at their house. And
at morning worship services I enjoyed the opportunity to join the praise &
worship team, as well as the Honor of contributing a Special.
These dear folks invited me to lunch at a Chinese Buffet. YUM! Then back to the
pastors house for more fellowship.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
