Nursing Home Music Ministry
Nevada
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 37 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed
the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 141 Nursing Homes and 31
Churches.
To God Be The Glory!
Monday September 8 th ~
Published the update from a coffee shop in Ukiah, California. Then drove to
Oakland, California and ministered at the "Dimond Care" facility for an enthusiastic
group of folks. Then over to the SOS House. (A street ministry that's been going in
the Bay Area since the eighties)
Tuesday September 9 th ~
Did an oil change on the van. A bit of visiting with the guy's. Then ministered at the
"Oakridge Care Center".
Back at the SOS House I joined the guy's for a time of Devotion, contributing some
songs.
Wednesday September 10 th ~
Said my goodbye's and drove east across California, through the Sierra Mountains
into Nevada.
Please pray for the SOS guys. They live and minister on the streets of a city rated
as the fourth most dangerous in the United States. In just the past three months
there was a man murdered 25 feet from where I slept in the van in front of their
house. During this same time period two of the ministry members were robbed at
gun point one night as they were getting out of their vehicle. And finally, a dead
body was found one morning down the street.
Needless to say these Brothers struggle with developing negative and cynical
attitudes, living with a Siege mentality. So they need our prayers to continue to
proclaim and live the Love of Christ in a positive and uplifting way.
Thursday September 11 th ~
Sang at the "Bee Hive" assisted living home in Fernley, Nevada.
Friday September 12 th ~
In Fallon, Nevada I was able to minister at the "Highland Manor". First in some
individual's rooms, then for a larger group in the activity room.
Saturday September 13 th ~
Drove northeast. Ran across two nursing homes with closed doors (spiritually
speaking).
Parked for the night at a rest area. Along about eleven o'clock four gang members
pulled in right next to me. Partying and making quite a bit of noise. After praying
fervently, I went out and was able to share the love of Christ with them. They
accepted what I had to offer. I went back to bed. They left shortly afterwards.
May God Save Them!
Sunday September 14 th ~
Drove into Winnemucca, Nevada and attended worship services at the "Calvary
Chapel". The pastor (Keith) and family treated me to lunch at a mexican food
restaurant. YUM! M.G.B.T!
Went over to the "Bee Hive" ALF and ministered for a small group. Then back to
the church for an Ice-Cream social where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing some
songs.

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours In Christ, Larry
