Nursing Home Music Ministry
"United Methodist Church" Tillamook, Oregon
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 33 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 116 Nursing Homes and 27 Churches. To
God Be The Glory!
Monday August 11 th ~
Published the update from the "United Methodist Church" here in Tillamook, Oregon.
Then drove to Wheeler,Oregon and ministered at the "Nehalem Valley Care Center" for
a surprised group of folks. Then on across the border into Washington State.
Tuesday August 12 th ~
Drove to Raymond, Washington and sang at the "Willapa Harbor Care Center", then
on to Aberdeen.
Wednesday August 13 th ~
Showered at the YMCA, then sang at the "Grays Harbor Health & Rehab Center". Went
next door to the "Westhaven Villa" assisted living facility and was allowed to minister
in the Alzheimer's Unit.
Drove twenty miles east to Montesano, Washington and sang at the "Hindbaugh Adult
Family Home" for five lady's.
A few more miles down the road in Elma, Washington there is a downtown street
ministry called "Set Free". Yesterday in Aberdeen a few of the guy's from there were
reading the bible out- load in a public place. When I stopped to encourage them they
invited me to Elma to share an evening meal with them.
Joined this group of guy's (about 20) for mid-week services in Malone, WA. (seven
miles away) at an Assembly of God church. Ended up parking there for the night.
Thursday August 15 th ~
It's still too early (Hot) to head east. So I've decided to loop back through Oregon and
work my way down the coast where it's cooler for sleeping in a van. Thought I'd make
a pit-stop in Junction City and change the Transmission Filter at Al & Karolynk's like I
did last year. It's been acting up a bit.
Friday August 16 th ~
Arrived at Al & Karolynk's yesterday afternoon where they again offered the use of
their Fifth Wheel RV. Which is a Blessing (with the air conditioner), since there's a
little heat wave going with temps near 100.
While still early and cool, I did the transmission filter change which is a little more
involved than an engine oil change. With the use of Al's ramps and drain pan I was
able to get underneath the van to do the work.
Just before noon I finished up and ran into Eugene to the Volunteers in Medicine clinic
where I was able to obtain a months supply of Insulin. Then back to A & K's to finish
laundry and enjoy a sumptuous dinner.
Saturday August 16 th ~
Up early. Having already said my goodbye's to this Hospitable couple. (What a
Blessing it's been the past two nights having air-conditioning in this heat.)
Drove into Eugene for the Breakfast Bible Study I've attended before. Then stopped in
Elmira on the way to the coast. They were having their "Family Fun Fair". Lots of
games, dunk tank, cotton candy, snow cones & hot dogs. All part of giving out school
supplies to the neighborhood kids.
The Pastor (Gordon) asked me to pull out the guitar and play some, so I did. Walking
around soakin' up the atmosphere. Then drove on to Reedsport and ministered at the
extended care unit of the hospital. As I was finishing up, a staff member pulled me
aside saying "You don't know what happened here today". I put the guitar case down
and said "Please tell me".
Seems one of the ladies who was clapping, singing and moving around a lot, is
normally quite and reserved hardly ever talking. And (Praise God!) her and another
lady who Hate one another, were holding hands.
The Power Of The Gospel Is Awesome!
Sunday August 17 th ~
Attended worship services here at the Foursquare Church where I've been allowed to
park overnight. Now and in past years. I was given the Honor of contributing a Special
during the Offering.
Terry (the pastor) had me over to his place for lunch, a little TV, and use of their
shower. Then back to the church building for a pot-luck dinner. YUM!

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours In Christ, Larry
