Nursing Home Music Ministry
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 14 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 55 Nursing Homes and 10 Churches. To
God Be The Glory!
Monday March 31 st ~
Mount Airy, North Carolina is the hometown of Andy Griffith. The "Mobys Coffee"
shop is a christian owned & operated business where two years ago the owners
allowed me the use of their computer in their office to send out the Update. This was
before I'd been given the laptop.
Well they've been rather successful. They've started a franchise with eight other
Mobys around the state. Although this one has new owners, the Moby's came in while
I was publishing the newsletter. So we got to visit for a bit. Before we parted they
slipped me a sweet donation for the ministry. May God Bless Them!
Did Laundry. Then over at the Community Center (since I had to pay five bucks for a
shower) went ahead and did a workout first. All this took most the day. Got back over
to the Wal-Mart a little before dark.
Tuesday April 1 st ~
All four facilities in town had morning activities already scheduled. However, at the
"Twelve Oaks Rest Home", a rather large place, I was able to minister in the
Alzheimer's unit.
Then just after lunch time, over to the 32 bed extended care unit of the Hospital. One
resident who'd been there three years, sang just about every song with me.
Wednesday April 2 nd ~
Ministered mid-morning at the "Maples Nursing Home" in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Then after lunchtime at the "McDowell Nursing & Rehab Center" in Gary, West
Virginia. Then on to the "Promise Christian Fellowship" in Gilbert for mid-week
services where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing a couple of songs.
Thursday April 3 rd ~
The folks here gave me the use of their doublewide mobile home next to the church
building. Which they use for the kids Sunday School. It being a rainy day, I took the
opportunity to relax and spread out a bit. Did however accomplish something, got the
oil changed on the van.
Friday April 4 th ~
Loaded up. Showered up. And hit the road. Crossed into Kentucky to Pikesville where
I sang at the "Pikesville Health Care" facility. Unfortunately they had me sing in the
main dinning room right after a large group had a scheduled smoke break there. With
very little ventilation, it irritated my throat and lungs more than I expected. Coughing
all evening.
As a smoker I used to resent the growing restrictions on smoking in public places.
Now, as a non-smoker I understand the adverse effects of second hand smoke.
Saturday April 5 th ~
Not feeling well. Drove west a while to a Wal-Mart and took some Cold/Flu tablets.
Sunday April 6 th ~
Attended morning worship services at the "New Hope Baptist Church" in Nancy,
Kentucky. Continued west into some sunshine and attended evening worship services
at "The Meeting Place Full Gospel Church" in Cadiz, Kentucky where I enjoyed the
Honor of contributing some songs.
Folks gave me a care package of food and a place to park for the night. May God
Bless Them!

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours In Christ, Larry

P.S. Check out this song for the 4 th CD.
