Nursing Home Music Ministry
"Autumn Oaks"
Mountain Grove, Missouri
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 16 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've
enjoyed the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 59 Nursing Homes and 11
Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday April 14 th ~
Was able to access the Internet from the parking lot of the Assembly of God
church here in Mansfield, Missouri. Then back to the Baptist Church in MaComb
where I've been given a place to park, and the use of their kitchen and shower
facilities. Fixed a late lunch and spent the rest of the day editing one of the songs
for the next CD.
Tuesday April 15 th ~
Ministered at the "Rocky Ridge Manor" in Mansfield for a lovely group of folks.
Then back to MaComb to edit more songs.
Wednesday April 16 th ~
Drove to Mountain Grove, Missouri and sang at the "Autumn Oaks" nursing
home. Then back to MaComb for more editing and mid-week services.
Thursday April 17 th ~
These dear folks at the Baptist church here in MaComb have graciously provided
the use of their fellowship hall while I've been in the area. I devoted this day
exclusively to editing songs, and Praise God, have finished the Fourth CD. Next
project, design a jacket cover for it.
Ended the day attending services at the Cowboy Church a few miles down a
gravel road.
Friday April 18 th ~
Drove to northern Missouri, where the pastor from Macomb's mother (Marie) is
activity director of the "Fayette Care Center". She had me sing for the folks at
4:00 pm. She also introduced me to Jeff (A resident my age suffering from MS).
What a thoughtful lady. Marie picked up some pizza for me and Jeff, and set us
up in the activity room watching a movie. She also allowed me to park in their lot
overnight. Unfortunately the night nurse didn't get the message and called the
police along about 3:00 am.
Once he had the facts, he let her know I had permission and went on his way.
Seems I have to go through this sort of thing once or twice a year, Praise God it's
the police waking me up.
Saturday April 19 th ~
Said my goodbye's to Marie and Jeff. Prayed for Jeff, then started north.
In Mobley, Missouri as I was coming out of a Wal-Mart, an older car was on fire
about thirty feet from where I was parked. No one was hurt, and I got the van
moved about the time the fire department arrived. Sorry, didn't think to take
pictures until it was all over.
On up the road in Queen City, Missouri I sang at the "Schuyler County Nursing
Home" for a rather large group. Judging from the activity calendar in the hall,
they don't have a lot going on.
Sunday April 20 th ~
Attended the "Church of Hope" in Grinnell, Iowa. Good timing. Their starting a
five day Revival. I got to enjoy some sweet fellowship during a pot-luck dinner.
Yum!

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours In Christ, Larry

P.S. Check out another mp3 from the next CD.
