Nursing Home Music Ministry
"Refuge of Hope"
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 11 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 37 Nursing Homes and 7 Churches. To
God Be The Glory!
Monday March 10 th ~
I was able to shower here at the church building where I parked last night. Then drove
east a short distance to the "Pinewood Nursing Center" in Whigham, Georgia. Got to
minister for a lovely group of folks.
Continued on to Cairo to publish the newsletter and do some more work on the laptop.
Tuesday March 11 th ~
In Thomasville, Georgia I sang at the "Camellia Gardens" ALF. This was one of those
times when most folks were reserved and relatively unresponsive. I've learned to keep
singing and praying in my spirit. Persevere. In these situations, visiting afterwards is
when I see by there comments and tears that they really were receiving it.
Wednesday March 12 th ~
On to Quitman, Georgia to sing at the "Presbyterian Home and Retirement
Community". Sweet group, singing along and making request.
Later, enjoyed a visit, dinner, and place to park at the "Refuge of Hope". A prison
ministry located on 45 acres where up to nineteen men at a time, coming out of
prison, are provided a comfortable place to live, job placement, and biblical teaching
along with a Christ centered atmosphere.
In addition, the founding couple hold services in prisons around the state and several
nursing homes as well. May God Bless Them!
Thursday March 13 th ~
Drove to Valdosta, Georgia and sang at the "Heritage House Nursing Home".
Friday March 14 th ~
Ministered at the "Holly Hill Nursing Home" here in Valdosta, then drove the eighteen
miles back to Quitman to visit with some friends and attend a service out at the
Refuge where I was able to contribute some songs.
Saturday March 15 th ~
Attended an early morning men's fellowship in Quitman. Large group. Joined one of
the pastors (Jay) for breakfast. He ended up providing a motel room (from the church)
for the night. May God Bless Him!
Spent the rest of the day off. Resting.
Sunday March 16 th ~
Attended morning worship services at the "United Methodist Church", and joined a
group for lunch afterwards.
Did laundry and a walk. Then attended evening services at the "Cross Point" church
where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing a Special. After which we all watched a very
spiritually inspirational movie (Flywheel).
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
