Nursing Home Music Ministry
"Lords Lighthouse Church"
Bainbridge, Georgia
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 10 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 32 Nursing Homes and 6 Churches. To
God Be The Glory!
Monday March 3 rd ~
In Brookhaven, Mississippi I published the update at the library. Then ministered over
at the "CountryBrook Living Center". And ended the day in fellowship at Owen's
(pastor of the Lucien Baptist Church) for dinner, a shower and place to park
overnight. May God Bless Him!
Tuesday March 4 th ~
Rained heavy last night. So much so that when I tried to leave, the van was stuck in
the mud. Jacked up each side to get two by fours under the wheels. Moved it a few
feet out of the hole the wheels had dug. Then got stuck again!
About that time a neighborhood cop came by, eventually producing a chain so the
pastors wife could pull me out with her Jeep.
Got on over to the "Golden Living Center" and ministered to the folks there. The AD
sent me off with a lunch plate. Not the first time I've sang for a meal. May God Bless
Her!
Wednesday March 5 th ~
Continuing east, I stopped in Waynesburg, Mississippi at the "Pine View Health Care
Center" where I was able to minister for a bit before a scheduled activity.
Drove a few blocks to a small Residential Care house with a sign on the door that read:
"Stomach Virus Here". After visiting with a staff member for a moment I left her with a
CD and went a few more blocks to the "Southern Living" ALF just as a preacher was
finishing up. Was able to start singing right away.
Crossed the border into Alabama and attended mid-week services at the Dogwood
Hills Assembly of God in Brewton.
Thursday March 6 th ~
What a Day! The pastor (Tommy) from last nights church, treated me to breakfast,
arranged a quest pass at the YMCA, and, made a donation to the ministry. May God
Bless Him!
I ministered at "The Meadows" ALF where a dear lady gave me a gentle hug saying "I
needed that. Praise the Lord and bless you." Uplifting for me.
Got over to the YMCA for a workout and shower. Then to the library for laptop work.
Friday March 7 th ~
Ministered at the "West Gate Village" nursing home here in Brewton. First in the main
area, then over to the Alzheimer's unit.
Did laundry, a workout & shower at the Y, then drove east to a cheap ($6.00) national
forest campground for the night.
Saturday March 8 th ~
Continued east to a free county campground just shy of the Georgia border.
Sunday March 9 th ~
Crossed into Georgia to the "Lords Lighthouse Church" just outside of Bainbridge
where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing some songs during the worship service.
Was able to do some laptop work after lunch in the church building. Then at evening
services, was again given the opportunity to contribute a three song Special.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
