Nursing Home Music Ministry
"Mason Convalescent Care Center" Mason, Texas
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 2 weeks since beginning this years mission.
So far we've enjoyed the privilege of sharing the gospel in
song with 5 Nursing Homes. To God Be The Glory!
Monday January 7 th ~
Published the update from the "Rivers of Living Water"
church. Then over to the Dentist where I signed up on
standby. They were able to get me in by 3:30 pm and took
care of two fillings.
From there, I drove on out to Barb's Home Group / Pot Luck
Dinner / Worship Service / Prayer Meeting. A very large crowd
(about fifty). In preparation for me hitting the road, they did
the laying on of hands, praying for our ministry. May God
Bless Them!
Tuesday January 8 th ~
Had lunch and did some recordings with my Brother (William)
on his trumpet. Got in a walk in a park, then had dinner with
my Brother (George). As we parted, he handed me an
envelope which turned out to contain an awesome gift for our
ministry. May God Bless Him!
Back over to Rivers in time for the Prayer Meeting. These dear
Brothers & Sisters anointed me with oil, and with the laying on
of hands prayed for the ministry. May God Bless Them!
Wednesday January 9 th ~
On the road headed west. Stopped in Dripping Springs, Texas
and ministered at the "Hill Country Care" nursing home. At one
point a blind resident asked for a song I hadn't learned yet. I
sang a short phrase I could remember, then apologized for not
knowing more. She said she could sing it, so I encouraged her
to go for it. Was able to find the key she was in,
accompanying her with the guitar. It worked out great and
folks seemed to appreciate it.
Thursday January 10 th ~
Drove to Mason, Texas and sang at the "Mason Convalescent
Care Center". Received a warm welcome, and they sent me off
with an envelope ($20) and lunch plate to go. May God Bless
Them!
This town has a wonderful park where I was able to get in a
walk and hot shower.
Friday January 11 th ~
On to Sterling City, Texas where I ministered at the "Sterling
County Nursing Home". An intimate circle of about twelve
residents, with the activity director's little grandson sitting in a
stroller in the middle, quietly mesmerized by the music. Sweet!
Saturday January 12 th ~
Sang at the "Parkview Nursing & Rehab Center" in Big Spring,
Texas.
Was able to relax and get a little exercise in "Comanche Trail
Park" where the city allows free camping up to five days in a
month.
Sunday January 13 th ~
Got a shower and attended morning worship services at "The
Salvation Army". In the evening attended worship services at
the "Calvary Baptist Church". Both here in Big Spring.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
