Nursing Home Music Ministry
"The Garden Club" Fallon, Nevada
Dear Brothers And Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 38 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far
we've enjoyed the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 156
Nursing Homes and 26 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday September 17 th ~
Published the UPDATE from the library here in Fallon, Nevada. Then
ministered at "The Homestead" ALF. One lady told me "You Make me
want to cry". When I responded "I hope that's a good thing". Several
said Yes.
Tuesday September 18 th ~
Sang in "The Garden Club" memory care section of the "Highland
Manor" nursing home here in Fallon. Wonderful group.
To the park for lunch then back to Highland to sing in the general
area. Then over to "The Homestead" to join Lonnie & Jeff who'd
invited me to help them during their weekly scheduled service.
Wednesday September 19 th ~
Drove a little way's north, then east on IH 80 to north- central
Nevada. And sang at the "Beehive Home of Winnemucca". Another
First. About halfway through, a fella walked behind me and threw
three quarters into the guitar case. The way he did it tickled me such
that I had to really concentrate to finish the song.
Afterwards while shaking hands, another gentleman solemnly gave
me three one dollar bills. And to top it all off, a sharp 'ole gal handed
me a nickel and penny saying "Here, you can pay the tax on the next
dollar you spend."
May God Bless These Dear Folks!
Thursday September 20 th ~
Ministered at the "Harmony Manor" nursing home which is attached
to the hospital here in Winnemucca.
Wonderful group of staff and residents. I was given a great
reception. Sweet!
Spent the rest of the day driving across to the east side of Nevada
through a lot of desert. Beautiful in it's own way. The Good Lord
knows gas money is getting short, because he gave me the Best
mileage so far, on this last tank full --- 31.57 mpg --- Praise God!
Friday September 21 st ~
Drove on across Utah today; through the Bonneville Salt Flats, Salt
Lake City, and some Mountainous country. Crossed the border into
Wyoming just after noon time, and ministered at "Rocky Mountain
Care of Evanston". The assistant AD (Cindy) expressed a typical
problem as well as I've heard it. She said "At Christmas Time we're
swamped with volunteer's. The rest of the year we Beg and Plead to
no avail."
Saturday September 22 nd ~
Spent most the day on the road. Arrived in Rawlins, Wyoming in time
to attend an evening bible study at the "Church on the Rock" with
folks I've met before.
Sunday September 23 rd ~
Attended worship services at the "Church on the Rock" where I
enjoyed the Honor of contributing a Special.
One of the elders (Francis) arranged a gift from the church, treated
me to lunch, allowed the use of the church building so I could do
some editing on one of the songs on the laptop, and, provided a
place to park at their house. May God Bless Him!
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
