Nursing Home Music Ministry

Dear Brothers And Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 29 weeks since beginning this years ministry. So far we've
had the privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 129 Nursing Homes and
22 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday July 16 th ~
Published the update from the Newport library. Otherwise, took one more
day off, doing a little hiking.
Tuesday July 17 th ~
Drove to Yachts, Oregon and sang at the "Sea Air" ALF for a small group.
One gentleman said "This takes me back 80 years!".
A little further down the coast, at a trailhead in the "Siuslaw National Forest",
I parked for the night and went for a hike.
Wednesday July 18 th ~
Drove into Florence, Oregon to the "Church on the Rock". The Pastor (Carl)
gave permission to park in the lot while ministering in this area. Sang at the
"Spruce Point" ALF for a big group where one of the gentlemen attempted a
bit of preaching in-between a few of the songs. He had some difficulty
expressing thoughts, I'm assuming due to stroke. Helped him out with a few
statements, then back to singing.
During mid-week worship services back at the church, I enjoyed the Honor
of contributing a Special. Carl encouraged the Flock to help with the ministry
if they felt lead to do so. Many did, Blessing the ministry with a wonderful
love offering. May God Bless Them!
Thursday July 19 th ~
Attended an early morning bible study at the church.
In the afternoon, ministered at the "Elderberry Square" residential care
facility. Sang in two different buildings for mostly Alzheimer's patients. Quite
a few were singing along. Nice.
In the evening, the church had an hour long service with a group of five
young folks sharing contemporary worship songs. They were very talented.
Friday July 20 th ~
Ministered at the "Regency Florence" nursing home where a sweet
old-timer who was sitting next to and holding hands with his wife, slipped
me two dollars for the ministry. Each time this kind of thing happens with
residents, it humbles me. May God Bless Them!
Saturday July 21 st ~
Attended an early morning men's bible study here at the church. Spent
some time in the library. Got a shower at the Port-of-Suislaw. Then drove to
Reedsport to the Foursquare church. Did some reading. Rained most the
day, clearing a little in the afternoon. That's when some deer came into the
church yard.
A locale police officer (member of the church) stopped by before dark
checking things out. Recognized me from years past. We had a nice visit. I
enjoyed a peaceful night.
Sunday July 22 nd ~
Attended worship services here at the Foursquare church where I had the
Honor of contributing a song.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
