Nursing Home Music Ministry
My home for a few days at the "Tall Sycamore" campground in Logansport, Indiana
Dear Brothers And Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 17 weeks since beginning this years ministry. So far I've enjoyed the privilege of
sharing the gospel in song with 75 Nursing Homes and 12 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday April 23 th ~
Published the UPDATE from a library in Ohio. Then crossed into Indiana to Logansport to the "Tall
Sycamore" campground where the manager (Vicki) provided a place to park on the Wabash River
while I minister in this area. May God Bless Her!
Tuesday April 24 th ~
Spent the morning making arrangements to minister in the area nursing homes. Then back at the
campground I tried to do some recording but I'm having technical problems with the microphone
and possibly the sound card in the laptop. Ended up working on learning a couple of new songs.
Wednesday April 25 th ~
Sang at the "Woodbridge Health Campus" for a sweet group of folks. Afterwards, one of the staff
members slipped me something for the ministry. May God Bless Her!
I was able to test the laptop with a borrowed microphone. Looks like the problem is both, I need a
better mic, and, a sound card.
Thursday April 26 th ~
Ministered at the "McKinney House" assisted living facility here in Logansport. Afterwards while
thanking folks for listening, one of the lady's said "That's the most soothing hour I've had in this
place". Needless to say that comment spoke volumes.
Friday April 27 th ~
Sang at the "Chase Nursing & Rehab Center" during lunch. A resident gave me a cute little
wind-chime she'd made out of medicine cups and beads. Sweet!
Then I went over to the "Miller's Merry Manor" where a rather large crowd had gathered. Both
groups were enthusiastic; singing along and tap'in toes, it was a great day.
Saturday April 28 th ~
Here at the campground we had a gospel music sing along with some of the campers. Then a
pot-luck dinner, which around here they call a carry-in dinner. The rains had let up so we had a
nice warm sunshiny day. We had a good ole' time.
Sunday April 29 th ~
Attended the "First Church of the Nazarene" where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing a couple
of songs. After services a lovely couple (Paul & Nancy) treated me to a Buffet Lunch. Then at
evening services, a fifth Sunday (Singspiration) was scheduled with quite a few folks doing
Specials. I too, had the privilege of contributing a song.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
