Nursing Home Music Ministry
"Promise Christian Fellowship" Gilbert, West, Virginia
Dear Brothers And Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 16 weeks since beginning this years ministry. So far I've enjoyed the privilege
of sharing the gospel in song with 71 Nursing Homes and 11 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday April 16 th ~
What a Blessing it's been to have the comfort, space and convenience of this Double-Wide
Moble Home here at "Promise Christian Fellowship", for the past four days.
I published the UPDATE from the church office and ended up spending one more day in the
area, enjoying the Hospitality of this group of Christians. May God Bless Them!
Tuesday April 17 th ~
Loaded up and headed north. Still some flooded spots on these mountain roads, but not
impassable. Angled northwest to Ashland, Kentucky and found the "Woodland Oaks Health Care
Facility" where I was able to minister in their Alzheimer's Unit.
Wednesday April 18 th ~
As I was heading out of Ashland I spotted a faded sign "Riverview A Personal Care Facility".
Turned out to be a rather large dilapidated complex for mentally handicapped residents of all
ages.
Before and after I sang for this endearing group of folks, it was both heartwarming and
bittersweet the way they gathered around me like little children. One asked me to pray for her,
and several others said they'd pray for me.
Then just up the road in Wurtland, Kentucky at "Wurtland Nursing & Rehab" I sang for a more
elderly group during meal time. Although I've been giving a CD to every activity director where I
minister, a lady in a motorized wheelchair asked for one of her own. So of course I gave her
one.
Thursday April 19 th ~
Having crossed into Ohio, I picked up a shower at a YMCA. Then in Circleville, Ohio I sang at
"SunBridge Care & Rehabilitation".
Friday April 20 th ~
Still in Circleville, I sang at "The Brown Memorial Home". Afterwards, a staff member told me
"You got reactions from some who haven't reacted to anything in a long time". As you can
Imagine, hearing that lifted my spirits. Praise God!
Saturday April 21 st ~
Heading northwest, I ran upon an older gentleman who'd fallen off his motorskooter. Prayed for
him and he seemed to be alright.
In Urbana, Ohio I ministered at the "Heartland of Urbana Nursing & Rehab Center". First in the
Alzheimer's Unit, then over in the main cafeteria.
Sunday April 22 nd ~
Along about 9:45 am at the "Green Hill Retirement Community" in West Liberty, Ohio I lead a
little worship service with mostly singing and a little preaching & prayer. One lady told me she'd
had several strokes and until today she didn't know if she'd be able to sing in tune again. She
did, most all the songs.
Just up the road I attended the "McKees Creek Chapel" church where services had already
started. Out of curiosity, I sat in on their business meeting. (They voted to borrow a hundred
thousand for an addition to the building.) While visiting with some Brothers after the meeting,
two of them donated a total of a hundred & five dollars to my ministry. May God Bless Them!
Mid-afternoon in Lakeview, Ohio I sang at the "Heartland of Indian Lake Nursing &
Rehabilitation", got a shower at a county fairgrounds where a Dog Show was being held, then
settled in for the night at (where else) Wal-Mart.

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours In Christ, Larry
