Dear Brothers And Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 6 weeks since beginning this years ministry. So far I've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 21 Nursing Homes and 3 Churches. To God Be
The Glory!
Monday February 5 th ~
In Deming, New Mexico I ministered at the "Beehive Senior Living Home". Then over to the
"Willow Manor" where at one point a sweet lady exclaimed "I think you were sent to us by
God". That Humbled me!
Tuesday February 6 th ~
Ministered at the "Mimbres Care & Rehab Center" here in Deming. A real struggle at first.
Two women (volunteers no less) continually talked almost as loud as I was singing. Finally
they went somewhere else and the residents were able to hear clearly. Afterwards one
dear lady wanted me to know that she would be a hundred in July.
While hunting a shower I ran across a group of people calling themselves the "Agape
Community". They were working out of the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store. They had an old
motel they had turned into a homeless shelter. Not only did I get a shower, but also a warm
room for the night all to myself. May God Bless Them!
Wednesday February 7 th ~
Since I had the space, I did a little work-out (pushups & such), before showering and
leaving the room. Felt good.
Continued west to Lordsburg, New Mexico and ministered at the "Sunshine Haven Nursing
Home". Then crossed the border into Arizona and spent the night at the "Texas Canyon Rest
Area".
Thursday February 8 th ~
Drove into Benson, Arizona and ministered at the Benson Hospital. They had me go to a
couple of rooms where I was able to sing some favorite gospel songs for some folks. Then
to a break room area where I sang for a small group of about half & half, staff & patients.
On down the road I parked for the night in the "Buckeye Hills Recreation Area". Out in the
Arizona desert with nobody around but me & the Lord. Sobering.
Friday February 9 th ~
Up early. Did a little work-out. Then climbed a little mountain because it was there. And
because I still can.
Back on the road about mid-morning. Drove several hundred miles, no nursing homes. In
this part of the country there appear to be hundreds maybe thousands of RV Parks. Most,
near filled up this time of year. Didn't see many churches though. I suspect there's a
Harvest here. Maybe the Lord will let me work in this field when I'm through here next year.
Saturday February 10 th ~
I've been warned not to go into California. I've been told, more than once, that they'd
impound my smoking van. So, as I neared the Arizona/California border I turned north for a
hundred miles or so, then headed back east on IH 40.
In a rest area, with a couple of jugs of water I washed my hair. Then in Kingman, Arizona I
ministered at "The Gardens Care Center". A rather large facility where the AD had me go to
four different dinning rooms during lunch. Enjoyed a wonderful reception from residents
and staff. Very Uplifting!
Sunday February 11 th ~
Attended worship services at the "Good Shepherd Lutheran Church" here in Kingman. One
of the guys offered a shower and place to park at his Mobil Home property, where I was
able to do an oil change on the van, and, one of his tenants gave me a chicken & dressing
dinner. May God Bless Them Both!
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
