Nursing Home Music Ministry

Dear Brothers And Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 4 weeks since beginning this years ministry. So far I've enjoyed the privilege
of sharing the gospel in song with 9 Nursing Homes and 3 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday January 22 nd ~
In Yoakum, Texas I said hi & bye to my mom. And at the library, I was able to access their
wireless internet to publish the newsletter on the website and send off the UPDATE with the
ministry's new laptop. Thank You Lord! And Thank You Terence!
Drove north to Luling, Texas and ministered at "OakCreek Nursing & Rehabilitation". One little
lady had an almost angelic look and spirit about her. Encouraged Me!
Continued on northwest to Lakeway, Texas and surprised the Monday Night Home
Group/Worship Service/Pot-Luck Dinner/ Prayer Meeting Crew. Got to sing a song and say
goodbye again on my way west.
Tuesday January 23 rd ~
Ministered at "The Summit at Lakeway" for a lovely group of folks. The A.D. (Carla) gave me a
love offering for the ministry. May God Bless Her!
A bit further west, I dropped in on a brother in Christ (Travis). He had previously offered to
copy CD's for me. What hospitality, not only was I able to do laundry, but he also supplied 200
disc and the equipment for me to make copy's of the CD. And in addition to all that, he made a
sweet cash donation to the ministry. May God Bless Him!
Wednesday January 24 th ~
Last night as I was getting in the van the sliding door fell off it's tracks. Couldn't fix it in the
dark, so I propped it up as best I could and went to sleep. This morning, with Travis' help, I got
it back on track and good to go.
Drove to Johnson City, Texas and ministered at the "LBJ Medical Center" during their monthly
birthday party. When I asked for request, an aide told me one of the lady's was a big fan of
Johnny Cash. So I sang the one song of his that I know (Folsom Prison Blues), then got back to
the gospel.
Thursday January 25 th ~
Ministered at the "Windcrest Nursing & Rehab Center" in Fredericksburg, Texas. They had
some major remodeling going on next to the big dinning room, so they put me in a small sun
room, with a small group, away from the noise. A nice quite time of sharing the gospel in song.
Friday January 26 th ~
Last summer I removed the headliner and insulation from the van because it was falling down.
Well, in cold weather condensation builds on the bare metal ceiling from my breath during the
night. In sub-freezing conditions like last night, instead of evaporating, it froze and continued
to build up to a pretty thick sheet of ice. This morning when I fired up the propane heater, the
ice quickly melted and it began to rain inside the van. Then a big drop fell on th e electronic
pilot light of the heater, which kept it from working for a couple hours. I just had to laugh, it
was like something out of a comedy routine.
Well I eventually warmed up and got over to the "Edgewater Care Center" here in Kerrville,
Texas. I was able to sing for a large group in this older facility where quite a few were singing
along and clappin to the beat. We had a good ole time.
Found a shower and a meal at the Salvation Army, then over to Wal-Mart for the night.
Saturday January 27 th ~
Took the day off, doing some work on the laptop and long walks in the park.
Sunday January 28 th ~
Attended morning worship services at the "Trinity Church" in Centerpoint, Texas where I
enjoyed the Honor of contributing a Special. The pastor (Don) encouraged his flock to support
the ministry if they felt lead, and they did, generously. May God Bless Them!
A brother (Mike) offered a shower at his place. And at evening services I again had the
privilege of playing along with a few songs.
And So Begins Another Week.
May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!
Yours In Christ, Larry
