Nursing Home Music Ministry
Dear Brothers & Sisters In Christ,
I Hope & Pray you had a wonderful New Years Celebration.
Mine was very Low Key. A movie, pizza and some cards. Some
exciting things are developing for the ministry here at the first of the
year. Discussions with Leaders of the Church, look to be advancing
the ministry towards a more organized & promoted aspect.
The Church here has many things going on. From smuggling Bibles
into China & Vietnam, to trying to get a Family Life Center built. And
much more. I feel humbled to receive attention for my small efforts.
So, till next week.
May God Bless You.
Yours In Christ, Larry
Greetings,
How was your first week of 2006?
I had another tooth pulled. Which means I can't sing for a few weeks.
You see, about four years ago, I had a major tooth pulled; which lead
to a Fistula Communication (basically a hole going into my sinus
cavity). A year of illness and 4 surgeries in a 5 month period, resulted
in a 60 pound weight loss and hospitalization with Type 1 Diabetes.
So now, I'm very careful after a tooth extraction.
Please pray for me.
Yours In Christ, Larry
Dear Brothers & Sisters In Christ,
How was your week?
I finally broke down and put a new starter on the van. Ninety two bucks, ouch!
I met with Peter (the friend who helped me with the recordings). It appears there
may not be any more studio recording time available before I leave ( Lord willing, in
about 8 weeks).
We do have a first attempt CD. Which has some distortion hear and there, from
recording with too much volume. I've been told by others, that its sufficient for the
purpose of helping the ministry.
So, with a nephew's computer and assistance, we are beginning to produce copies.
Till next week, may the Lord guard, guide and direct you, in the
name of Jesus. Amen.
Yours in Christ, Larry
P.S. Peter has some heavy crosses to bare. Please pray for him.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
I spent last week house-sitting for a friend who was in Dallas pursuing credits
toward's a PhD degree.
A pretty impressive goal/achievement in academics.
I kept the dogs and fish alive, and didn't mess up the house too much.
I have a personal request. My little sister (Janet), is job hunting, and as many of
you know, that can be very hard and stressful. Please pray for her.
So, till next week,
may the Lord guard,
guide and direct you,
in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Yours in Christ, Larry
Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
The past week has been rather interesting. I've been helping out at The Dream
Center of Austin. It is patterned after the one in Los Angelo's.
Here they have a food pantry giving out groceries once a week. There are
Christians available, to counsel and pray for any one who wants it. Also a healing
room. There are Christian women's job training classes. Housing for men in
recovery, coming out of prison, basically those wanting a structured Christian
environment. They pay rent, have chores, curfew, random drug test, etc.
Ironically, the facility being leased is an old nursing home.
So, I'm helping out here and there, and playing a lot of gospel music, while I'm
stuck in Austin finishing up this Dental work.
Till next week,
may our God guard,
guide and direct you,
in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Yours in Christ, Larry
