Nursing Home Music Ministry
To My Brothers & Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
It has now been 35 weeks since beginning this years mission. So far,
I've had the Privilege of Sharing the Gospel in Song with 206 Nursing
Homes & 24 Churches. To God Be The Glory!
Monday November 7 th ~
In Poteau, Oklahoma, I stopped at the library to send off the UPDATE.
Then, ministered at "The Oaks Nursing Center". A lovely group which
seem to truly Love the Lord. I was able to fulfill several request. And
heard a number of Amen's & Praise The Lord's. A Rewarding
Experience.
Spent the evening over at Jean's (one of the Shankle Sisters), with a
visiting Pastor (Gene) from Mississippi. While his Evangelist wife
(Brenda) & Jean went to a Ladies Prayer Meeting. We enjoyed some
good ole' Fellowship.
Tuesday November 8 th ~
I spent the day visiting with Gene, Brenda & Jean.    Got the Hot Water
Heater Working (thankfully, an easy fix).   Broke out the guitar & sang
together a bit.   Then back to the Church in Hartford for the night.
 Wednesday November 9 th ~
Drove over to Greenwood, Ar., and played at the "Greenwood
Retirement Center". Had a wonderful group of spiritually minded Folks.
After singing, a lovely black lady handed me two quarters for the
ministry. I was invited to stay for lunch, and while sitting around visiting
with folks, she came over, laid her hands on me, and prayed for me.
M.G.B.H! ( May God Bless Her!)
On the way back to Hartford, I detoured to Sugarloaf Lake and visited
with Joe & Linda. They are a retired couple who use their talents of
singing, piano & guitar playing, to minister around this area.
Attended Mid-Week Worship Services at the Assembly of God Church
back in Hartford; Where I had the Honor of singing "Just A Closer Walk
With Thee".   We enjoyed an uplifting service. At the end, we gathered
around Gene (the visiting Pastor from Mississippi), who has gone
through 17 surgeries on his knee. We anointed him with oil, laid hands
on & Prayed for him. Please Pray for him.
After services, two ladies (Bettye & Sheri) gave me gifts for the ministry.
M.G.B.T!
Thursday November 10 th ~
Headed South. At a convenience store in southern Arkansas, a man
asked me for a ride to the next town. I turned him down. Please ask the
Lord to forgive me for that, and to Bless that man.
Just across the Border into Texas, I stopped for directions to the
nearest Vehicle Inspection Station. Got back in the van and it wouldn't
start. Spent the rest of the afternoon fooling with it. Unable to get it
going, I ended up sleeping right there for the night.
Friday November 11 th ~
Spent the morning fooling around with the van & praying. Along about
noon, a gentle black man by the name of Thomas, came over to help.
We checked this & tested that. Finally he determined it was the starter.
He handed me a Hammer, and said "Here, hit it with this."
Well I tentatively tapped on it a few times, and sure enough, it started
right up. Thomas said I might not have any more problems with it. He
wouldn't take any money for helping. Simply asked me to pray for him. I
did, and I ask ya'll to please pray for him as well.
Drove a mile down the road to a Vehicle Inspection Station. Praise God,
they passed this old van, put a current Sticker in the windshield, now
I'm legal. Thank You Jesus.
Further South, I stopped in Jefferson, Texas, at "Cypress Place
Assisted Living". Ministered to a lovely group of residents. They sang
along with most all the songs. Made several request, and seemed to
really enjoy it. The Activity Director (Alana), gave me a gift for the
ministry. M.G.B.H!
Saturday November 12 th ~
Headed out early, and made the 300 miles to Austin, Texas by about
2:00 pm. Got a shower at my little sister (Janet's) place. Had dinner with
Sarah (a Lady in the Church who has helped with the ministry in
numerous ways).
Back at Janet's, my nephews & her had returned home. So I had a joyful
reunion with them & some teenagers from the church.

Sunday November 13 th ~
Had a wonderful Reunion at my home congregation (Jubilee Christian
Center). The Praise & Worship Leader, Jaquita (Pastors Wife), allowed
me to jump right in with the Choir. For me, its always been a Humbling
experience to put on one of those Robes. Still, it can be a good thing to
be Humbled every now & then.   Received countless Hugs & Such. One
friend (Gene) slipped me a gift for the ministry. M.G.B.H!        Timing
was nice, in that I was able to attend Sarah's Monthly Home Group Bible
Study this evening. Where I enjoyed the Honor of contributing a couple
of songs.

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide & Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen

Yours In Christ, Larry
To My Brothers & Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I Hope & Pray All Is Well With You & Yours.
It has now been 36 weeks since beginning this years mission. To date, I've had the

Thank You Jesus.
Monday November 14 th ~
The City of Austin has a Progressive Medical Assistance Program (MAP) for Low
Income Folks. Which Amazingly includes Dental. I was able to qualify & get the
eligibility paperwork out of the way today.               Stopped at the library to send off
UPDATE. Then visited a Brother in Christ (George). Enjoyed some uplifting fellowship.

Tuesday November 15 th ~
Drove to Yoakum, Texas. Visited with my parents. Said hi to a few cousins, aunts &
uncles. Along about 3:30 pm, I sang at the "Stevens Healthcare & Rehab Center".
This facility was built years ago by an uncle of mine. And although its been sold to
corporations, family still Administer & work there.   I was able to play for a bit in the
Main Activity Room. Then a bit more over in the Alzheimer's unit.
Obviously, I  received a warm reception, being the Oldest Son of one of the residents.
Tishanne (the activity director) is to be commended. She goes out of her way to print
out the UPDATE. And going the extra mile, using their copier, enlarges it to make it
easier for my Dad to read. M.G.B.H!  ( May God Bless Her!)
Wednesday November 16 th ~
Drove back to Austin. Attended Mid-Week Worship Services at Jubilee.
Thursday November 17 th ~
Visited with George & Mario at "The Dream Center". This facility is a former nursing
home. It's now a Recovery Sanctuary, patterned after the one in California. They
house some folks. Operate the "Have a Heart of Compassion Food Pantry". A
"Women's Job Training Program". And More.
In the evening, I attended a Revival going on at the Agape Christian Ministries Church.
These folks really get into Praising & Worshipping our Lord. Very Uplifting.
Friday November 18 th ~
Ministered at "The Park at Becket Meadows". An Assisted Living facility I've played at
before. Lovely group of very appreciative folks. It's always nice coming back here.

Saturday November 19 th ~
Attended Worship Services at the Angels Recovery Church here in Austin. I enjoyed
the Honor of contributing some songs & a testimony during services.   There was a
pot-luck social afterwards, where I got to visit with folks. Some good fellowship.
Sunday November 20 th ~
Attended Worship Services at Jubilee Christian Center. Where I had the Honor of
singing in the Choir. It still amazes me how Humbling it is to wear one of those Choir
Robes.

And So Begins The Holiday Season.

May You Have A Wonderful Thanksgiving Day Week.

Yours In Christ, Larry

I Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I got to spend a couple of days with Mom & Dad, in Yoakum, Texas. Enjoyed watching
the Dallas & Texas UT football games with Pop, Thursday & Friday.
Earlier in the week, back in Austin, I was able to get the preliminary exam & x-rays
done at the dentist.
And on Tuesday, enjoyed the Honor of singing at a Thanksgiving Dinner for the
Homeless.
All in all, a nice & productive week.

May God Bless You.

Yours In Christ, Larry
