Nursing Home Music Ministry
To My Brothers & Sisters In Christ, Greetings.
I Hope & Pray All Is Well With You & Yours.
It's been a slightly different week, with the opportunity to have/use
a base of operations. I've been able to minister in a 20 mile radius,
and return to Mansfield every night. By the way, this is where
Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote "The Little House On The Prairie" books.
It has now been 11 weeks since beginning this years mission. So
far, I've had the privilege of Sharing the Gospel in Song with 67
Nursing Homes and 10 churches. Thank You Jesus!
Monday May 23 -
Drove over to Mountain Grove, Mo. and ministered at the "Autumn
Oaks Caring Center". Nice Group.
Tuesday May 24 -
Over in Hartville, Mo., I sang at the "Hartville Care Center". As I was
leaving, out in the parking lot, a lady looked me in the eye and said
"Your going to Heaven". I wasn't sure if it was a question or
statement, so I said "Yes ma'am". Then she said "Me too, see ya
there". UPLIFTING!
Wednesday May 25 -
Here in Mansfield, I played at the "Rocky Ridge Manor". Large
group, went very well. As I was going around thanking everyone for
listening, a girl in a wheelchair (who looked to be in her 20's or
30's), kissed my hand, so, I kissed her's. SWEET!
Attended mid-week services at a church where they had a bible
study going on I Samuel.
Thursday May 26 -
Drove to Seymour, Mo. and played at "Glenwood Healthcare". Sang
for a nice, large crowd, during their monthly birthday party. Felt the
Spirit.
Friday May 27 -
Back to Mountain Grove, Mo.; ministered at "Wright County
Residential". This facility had a few elderly, but mostly younger
residents from 20's into middle-age. Some mentally handicapped.
We had a good time. Played for an hour and a half, afterwards,
they showed me their garden's, and we visited some. Fun Time!
Saturday May 28 -
Took the day off. Walked into town to the library. On the way back,
got some free hamburger's at a Hardware store having a Grand
Opening.
Sunday May 29 -
Attended morning services in Mansfield. Then, drove over to the
"Heart Of The Ozarks Healthcare Center" in Ava, Mo. Joined in
their Sunday worship, then, afterwards, played a bit more. Sat
down and had a good visit with some residents and visitor's.
Back in Mansfield, at evening services, Pastor had me sing a small
set (4-songs). Then he encouraged the Flock to make a Love
Offering. They Blessed me with more then I've spent here. May The
Lord Bless Them!  GOD IS GOOD!!!

It's been nice, staying in one location this week. Having the time to
catch up on some reading and getting to know folks better.
This was made possible, because of the hospitality of the owner
(Sandy) of The Little Prairie RV Park. Giving me a free place to park
and access to a shower. May God Bless her for this.

Till Next Time, Take Care, And May God Bless You!
Yours In Christ, Larry

Monday May 30 - Memorial Day
Took a Holiday! Had some BBQ. Visited with some folks. Did some reading.
Tuesday May 31 -
Drove N.N.E. to Cuba, Mo. and played at the "Cuba Manor". Large crowd, very
receptive.
Afterwards, an old war-horse (his label for himself), told me a WW II  story. At first
he said, "Precious Memories" brought something to mind. But then, he started
crying, so I sat down beside him and gave him time to recover. He told me how the
song reminded him of being in a small town (Barrio), outside of Manila, in the
Philippines.
He was on guard duty, at his end of town at night, when he heard a commotion
further out. Holding a Thompson Machine-Gun, he stalked down the side of the
street, under the darker shadows of the Banyan trees. Peeking around a large tree
(this is where he got emotional again and had to stop for a moment). There before
him, was an old church with a bombed out hole in the side. And inside, were people
on their knees singing "I Need Thee Every Hour".
He said it's a shame he had to be on a battlefield, before realizing that he needed
the Lord, every hour.
Wednesday June 1 -
In Boonville, Mo. I stopped at the "Lakeview Health Care and Rehab Center". The
Activity Director (Marie), and staff were extremely hospitable. They treated me to
lunch, dinner, a shower and even some gas money.
Marie introduced me to Terry (a resident my age who plays the guitar). He's
spending some time here in Rehab, after losing his right leg.
Terry and I were a Hit. We played a few of his original compositions. And, he played
lead with me doing rhythm and vocals. We went for over an hour and a half, and
had a good old time.
I hung out, visiting till bed time, then camped in their lot.
Thursday June 2 -
Visited with Terry a bit. Said my goodbyes's to Marie & the staff. Went to the
library in town. Took a long walk, across a bridge spanning the Missouri River.
Headed north on HWY 63, stopped in Glasgow, Mo. and sang at the "Colonial
Manor Nursing Home". Although a small group, I received several Blessings.
A little further down the road, I stopped at the "Chariton Park Health Care Center"
in Salisbury, Missouri. Played for a large audience, acoustics were good and it
went very well.
Friday June 3 -
Drove to Queen City, Mo., and ministered at the "Schuyler County Health Care
Center", mid-morning. Had a rather large crowd in a relatively small room, but it
worked great.
There was a lady, pretty much out of it. Well, at one point, when I sang "Precious
Memories", she started singing along. And from then on she sang most of the
songs with me. She was in a mobile bed, and the aide's said it was amazing
because she was mostly unresponsive.  When I went around afterwards, and
thanked her for helping me sing, she said "ANYTIME".
Crossed over into Iowa and stopped at the "Maple Ridge Assisted Living
Community" in Oskaloosa, Ia. It was good timing, they had a scheduled Bible Study
with a Rev. who didn't show up. So, I had an audience already gathered.
Good size group, went very well. Experienced another first, about half way thru, an
ambulance came. Wheeled a gurney to a lady's room, and brought her back thru
the lobby, out and away.
Saturday June 4 -
Stopped at the library in Grinnell, Ia. In a town square one block over, was a
farmers market with a locale Blue Grass band playing. Sounded pretty good.
I then went over to the "Friendship Manor Care Center". While waiting for them to
finish Bingo, I met Mark who was there visiting his aunt. He had his guitar with him,
so I asked him to join me.
A quadriplegic lady wanted to here "She'll Be Coming Round The Mountain". We
would improvise a verse, then stop. She'd tell us another verse, we'd sing it, then
stop. Went on like that for 5 or 6 verses. Everyone seemed to appreciate it.
Afterwards as I was sitting around visiting with Mark. The head RN, who had made
some calls, helped me get a motel room for the night. She also introduced me to
Francene, a take charge kind of Gal, who said "I'm going to the grocery store, what
kind of food do you like?"
When she got back and we were visiting outside, she first asked "How you doing
for gas?" Then stopped herself and said "Wait that's not the way to say it." She
started for her van and said "Follow me to the gas station." Filled up my tank!
Sunday June 5 -
Attended services at, Church of Hope, where 2 churches had combined resources.
They had 2 pastors with 2 morning services, one at 9 am and another at eleven.
With classes in-between. At one point, Francene introduced me to the
congregation, asking me to tell them about what I'm doing.
After services I was invited to go with a group of 12 to a Chinese Buffet.
At evening services, I was honored to contribute a couple of songs. A lovely couple
(Kenton & Peggy), invited me over for dinner, and a place to park for the night. We
had an uplifting time of Fellowship. They have a ministry of helping underprivileged
kids in their area. Planting spiritual seeds, and doing what they can for the
Kingdom.
The folks I met in this area were very hospitable, and Blessed me in many ways.
May the Lord Bless Them!

Till Next Time, May The Lord, Guide, Guard & Direct You.
Yours In Christ, Larry
It has now been 13 weeks since beginning this years ministry. To date, I've had the
Privilege of Sharing the Gospel in Song with 81 Nursing Homes & 11 Churches.
Thank You Jesus!
Monday June 6 -
At Kenton & Peggy's place, I was treated to a fantastic breakfast. Some wonderful
fellowship (spiritual food). And, a shower for the road. May God Bless Them!
Farther down the road, I stopped in Traer, Ia. and ministered at the "Sunrise Hill
Care & Rehab Center". Lovely place, large crowd, went very well. Afterwards, the
Activity Director asked me to go to the Alzheimer's unit. They had one lady that
was always singing "The Old Rugged Cross".
But they didn't want me to play that. They were hoping, after hearing me, she'd
start singing something else. And she did!
Tuesday June 7 -
Stopped in Nashua, Ia. and toured "The Little Brown Church". Which is associated
with the song "The Church In The Wildwood".
Drove on north to New Hampton, Ia. and played mid-morning at the "New Hampton
Care Center".A small group, one particular gentleman seemed to be moved.
Crossed over into Minnesota and stopped in Spring Valley. Went over to the
"Spring Valley Care Center" and ministered there. They invited me to stay for their
coffee/cookie/popcorn social. Had a real nice visit.
Wednesday June 8 -
Drove across the Mississippi River into Wisconsin. In Ellsworth, Wi. I ministered at
the "Ellsworth Care Centers".  Sang for 45 minutes before a scheduled church
service. Then hung around for that. Good Timing!
Continuing north, I stopped in Comstock, Wi. at the Community Bible Church.
Walked into, a group just sitting down for a meal & meeting. I said "Boy, my timing
is Good." Got a big laugh!
The Pastor ended up inviting/offering a shower & place to park overnight, back at
their house. We were enjoying Fellowship so much, it was 1:30 in the morning
before we finally went to bed.
Thursday June 9 -
Visited for an hour or two with Louis & Sandy. Then, they had me follow them into
town for breakfast. Great fellowship. To top it off, they had me follow them to a gas
station, filled my tank. And, gave me a gift card from that station. May God Bless
Them!
Friday June 10 -
Here in Cumberland, Wi., I went over to "Cumberland Regional Health Care". Sang
for a pretty good size group. First time I've used a remote Button Mike System they
had. Worked pretty good.
As it was getting close to time to wrap it up, some girls brought in a litter of
Puppies. Well, I couldn't compete with that, so I quickly ended my singing. Besides,
I wanted to play with the puppies too!
Saturday June 11 -
I had camped in a turnout, with a magnificent view of Lake Superior. About a 100
feet from the shoreline.
Spent most the morning reading my Bible. Then continued along the shore till I hit
Hwy 2. Started west, back into Minnesota. Arrived in Grand Rapids in the afternoon.
Sunday June 12 -
Attended worship services at a small church. They had a guest speaker. While she
was praying for those who came up; the Pastor's brother (Joel), came over and
asked if he could pray for me. He Prayed in the Spirit for me and the ministry. A
Beautiful Prayer!
They had a Super Salad lunch after services. Delicious!
Before I left, a fella slipped me 10 dollars. Also, Joel handed me a booklet entitled
"The Lion Anointing". He said "I just thought this might help you". Later, as I was
reading it; I turned a page and low & behold, there was a 20 dollar bill! May God
Bless Them!
After a shower at the Fairgrounds, I went over to the "Itasca Nursing Home", here
in Grand Rapids. And ministered to a small group that were very alert, and came up
with a number of request that I knew.

And So, Till Next Week,
May God Bless You All!
Yours In Christ, Larry

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength
of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? ...... therefore will I offer in his tabernacle
sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord.
To My Brothers & Sisters In Christ, Greetings.

Monday June 13 ~
Not feeling well. Soar throat. Feverish. Went to library to send off UPDATE. Drove
about 65 miles, stopping at a Wal-Mart. Took some cold medicine and went to bed.
Tuesday June 14 ~
Stayed put. Took medicine. Slept. Rested.
Wednesday June 15 ~
Back on the road again. Stopped in Bagley, Mn. and played before/for lunch, at the
"Bagley Senior Citizens Center". Had a good visit with the folks during the meal. As
I was leaving, the President of the organization gave me a hand shake with a 10
dollar bill in his palm! May God Bless Him!
Went over to the north side of town and attended the monthly birthday party at the
"Greensview Care Center". A locale Pastor & Wife hosted this event on a regular
basis. Towards the end of their program they invited me up to sing a couple of
songs.
Afterwards, Pastor and I had a nice visit. He Blessed me with a 20 dollar offering
and a wonderful prayer for me & the ministry. May God Bless Him!
Thursday June 16 ~
Continued west into North Dakota. Stopped in Devils Lake,ND. and went to the
"Heartland Care Center". Was able to sing for a nice, receptive, medium size group.
Went well.
In the same part of town, I spotted the "Odd Fellows Home". An assisted living
facility; timing was good, they were in the middle of a Bible Study Service. Soon as
they finished, I was invited to step-up and sing for awhile. First time I've played
only request. Amazingly, every song I was asked to do, was among those I've
learned. Things seemed to simply, FLOW!
Friday June 17 ~
Went to Candu, ND. and ministered at the "Towner County Living Center". Caught
a large group gathered together; attendants brought in some more, and we packed
the room. Went very well!
After lunch I drove over to Rugby, ND. (which the signs say is the geographical
center of North America). I sang at the "Haaland Home". Nice facility; they had a
beautiful Chapel area where a good size crowd gathered. Very receptive. Had a
good time. The staff gave me a thank you card with 15 dollars in it. May God Bless
Them!
Saturday June 18 ~
Drove to Stanley, ND., where I found a City RV Park (with showers), offering free
camping up to 4 days. Decided to spend the weekend here and recharge the
batteries. Had a nice spiritual discussion with a couple of gentlemen parked next to
me.
Sunday June 19 ~
At worship services I had the Honor of contributing a special; "The Old Rugged
Cross".
After services two people (a mother & son) made donations to the ministry. A total
of 55 dollars! May God Bless Them!

I'd like to take a moment and thank you All, for your encouragement
and support. Please, Pray for my Health and the continuation &
growth of this ministry.
Your In Christ,
Larry

Privilege of Sharing the Gospel in Song with 99 Nursing Homes & 12 Churches. I
Thank the Lord, and Praise his Holy Name, for this opportunity.
Monday June 20 ~
Mid-morning I ministered in the "Mountrail Bethel Home" here in Stanley,ND.  A
large audience, good acoustics, and an appreciative group.
Drove west to Tioga,ND.  At the "Tioga Long Term Care" nursing home they were
having a birthday party; along with a Heritage Week Celebration. Was able to step
up and contribute a few songs.
Further down the road, in Williston,ND., a Furious storm came through during the
night. Thunder, Lightning, Rain & High (70 mph) Winds. The van was a Rockin!
Tuesday June 21 ~
Played at the "Bethel Lutheran Home" here in Williston. The Activity Center was a
very large area; complete with Stage & Sound System. I sang for a, larger than
normal, audience. Went well. Afterwards, the Ativity Director gave me a fifty dollar
donation. Praise God! May The Lord Bless Her!
Hung around and visited for a bit, then headed west into Montana. Stopped for the
night in Glasgow,Mt.; Mosquitoes were so bad, I couldn't open the van windows.
Kinda Hot!
Wednesday June 22 ~
Found "Our Home" here in Glasgow. A small (10-bed) residential type Elder Care
facility. Played for three folks, out on the porch. Nice!
Went across town to the "Valley View Home". Played in the Alzheimer's Unit for a
bit. Then played in the main facility for about 20 minutes before a Church service
was due to start. Was Honored to contribute a few songs, during services as well.
The Activity Director arranged for me to have lunch in their Dinning Room. Enjoyed
a nice visit with one of the residents.
After lunch, I continued west to Malta,Mt. & dropped in at the "Phillips County
Good Samaritan Retirement Center". Nice little group; a severely handicapped lady
was clapping, by stomping her foot on the floor. Another lady apologized for not
being able to clap because of her arthritic hands. I told her "That's OK dear, I can
see you clapping with your eye's." And her friend beside her comforted her with
similar words.
Thursday June 23 ~
Continuing west, I stopped in Shelby,Mt. Over at "Marias Health Care" I sang in the
Dinning Room for about 40 minutes before lunch. Afterwards, a volunteer asked me
to stay for the meal. So, I enjoyed some good food and visit.
Drove to Cut Bank, Mt. and, after stopping at the library, went over to the "Glacier
Care Center". They were due to have a retired couple who came every Thursday to
sing old country songs. I was allowed to minister for the 15 or 20 minutes before
they got there.
Continued west into the Mountains. Parked for the night next to a Bubbling Brook
in the Flathead National Forest; which is located in the Northern Rocky Mountain
Range.
Almost no Mosquitoes, And, had to use almost all my Blanket's. Nice & Cool!
Friday June 24 ~
Ate lunch parked in an Overlook; with a River flowing down between Mountains,
and a Train going along beside it. Picturesque!
Drove on into Kalispell, Mt. and ministered at "Rosetta". A small, residential stile
facility; specializing in Alzheimer's patients. Enjoyed a bowl of Ice-Cream with them,
after singing.
Just around the block, was a much larger facility; "Wel-Life of Kalispell". I was
privileged to minister to a fair size audience. Witnessed several folks being moved.
Afterwards, a lady thanked me for my songs, but more than that, she wanted me to
remember, and take with me, the fact that I had helped them spiritually.
Encouraging!
Saturday June 25 ~
Pulled into Libby, Mt. about noon. Spent some time in the library, then found the
"Libby Care Center". Nice group; one lady in a mobile bed was introduced to me as
the resident Chaplin. It was explained to me that only those who were around her
daily could understand her, but that she was very sharp & didn't miss much. Sure
enough, during many of the songs, (because of the expressions on her face & the
sounds she was making) she was making melody in her heart.
Further down the road; I went for a hike around Kootenai Falls. Then parked for the
night next to the Yaak River, here in Kootenai National Forest. The sound of the
shallow Rapids was soothing.
Sunday June 26 ~
Traveled across the border into Idaho. Attended services in Bonners Ferry, Id. ;
then over to the "Boundary County Nursing Center" where I joined in a worship
service hosted by a locale Church. After services I played for an additional half
hour.
Met Greg, from the church, who invited me back to his place for hamburgers, a
movie, and a shower.
Greg is confined to a wheel chair, having had his back broken in an Industrial
Accident. Through it all, he has continued to Worship & Serve the Lord. Praise
God! And May The Lord Bless Him!

Until Next Time, May The Lord Guard, Guide And Direct You!
Yours In Christ, Larry

I will lie down and sleep in peace,
for you alone, O Lord,
make me dwell in safety.
