Nursing Home Music Ministry
Southern California
Flaggstaff, Arizona --->
<--- Blythe, California
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Greetings.
I hope and pray all is well with you and yours.
It has now been 1 week since beginning this years mission. So far we've enjoyed the
privilege of sharing the gospel in song with 6 Nursing Homes and 1 Church. To God Be
The Glory!
Monday January 5 th ~
Published the update from the "Faith Assembly" church here in Imperial, California.
Then sang at the "Valley Convalescent Hospital" in the next town south. One of the
toughest times I've had.
Shortly after I started, a staff member came in and proceeded to sweep & mop the
entire area, moving folks around to get it all. Three gentlemen played Dominoes, loudly
slapping them on the table. And the assistant activity director, when she was in the
room, talked with a couple of residents almost the whole time.
Still, there was at least one person who really seemed to enjoy the gospel music.
Oh Yeah! And one lady threw up!

So Maybe, it was appropriate that someone was already in there sweeping and
mopping. And Maybe, some of the gospel message filtered into those guys around the
Dominoes. And Maybe, the assistant AD and her friends got a little of Gods Word when
they stopped talking and looked up every now and then.

On top of everything else my lower back went out on me yesterday morning. This
seems to happen about once every two years or so. Then I spend a few days, weeks or
months dealing with it until it heals up. Please pray this episode is short lived.
Said my goodbye's to Dan & Cindy and headed back east-northeast stopping in Blythe,
California where I was able to minister in the "Blythe Nursing Care Center" for a sweet
group of folks. One relatively young man in a wheelchair was very enthusiastic and
encouraging. May God Bless Him!
Wednesday January 7 th ~
Crossed the border back into Arizona and stopped in Kingman where I sang at "The
Garden Care Center". When I walked in to sing, the CD I left with them last year was
playing. Gave me a Special feeling.
Was able to shower, park overnight and plug in the heater at a Brother, Mike's house.
Whom I met at a church here a couple of years ago. Since they have no mid-week
evening service we spent the time visiting.
Thursday January 8 th ~
Continued east to Flagstaff, Arizona and sang at the "Infinia Health Care" facility for a
large group of residents.
Friday January 9 th ~
In Winslow, Arizona I sang at the "Winslow Campus of Care" for a mostly Navajo
population. Then on to Edgar, Arizona to the "Bee Hive" residential care home.
Crossed the border into New Mexico and hooked up with Kenny & Laurie in the town of
Quemado. This is the lovely family who donated the van I've been using for the past two
years.
Saturday January 10 th ~
A nice day of fellowship with the family.
Sunday January 11 th ~
Attended worship services at the "Datil Baptist Church" where I enjoyed the Honor of
speaking to the Youth. And then the privilege of sharing a few songs during worship. A
pot luck fellowship, then back to Kenny & Laurie's for some football playoff watch'in
and an inspirational movie.

And So Begins Another Week.

May The Lord Our God
Guard, Guide And Direct You.
In The Name Of Jesus. Amen!

Yours In Christ, Larry
